                                                             50th Reunion Summary

The Logan High School, Class of 1959 Reunion Committee, led by Jimmy Thompson, pulled off yet another superior Class Reunion. I have received several comments from classmates stating the 50th Year Reunion was one of the best we have had. That is commendable considering all our Reunions have been such a success. I cannot say enough about the performance of the Committee. They "hit on all cylinders" in every task, and the food and snacks were just great! Skeet, Sue, Janet, Eloise, Nancy, Larry, Mary, Jim and Ron put in a lot of hard work to make it a success. Hats off to all!

Hats off to all!The 50th Reunion kicked off with the registration at the Logan High School Cafeteria where everyone received their 50th Year Reunion T-shirt, viewed pictures of the 10th through 45th year reunions, listened to 1950s background music on a complimentary DVD provided to each classmate. The 50th Year Brochure, containing graduation information, class activities, tributes to deceased members, class history, obituaries, addresses, and reunion pictures was also a hit!

On Friday, the Committee and Class Officers were hosted by Mayor Serafino Nolletti of Logan who proclaimed Oct 8-9 as Class of 1959 Days in Logan. This was a special event for the Class. The Memorial Service was touching. Dickie Reffitt and Bill Davis officiated and performed superbly. The social on Friday night at the "Good Ole Boys" in Peach Creek was in a picturesque, relaxed country setting where everyone simply enjoyed "chatting", playing 1950 records on the juke box, and renewing old acquaintenances. The "downside" at the picnic on Saturday was being pestered by yellow jackets; but, this this did not dampen our spirits and enthusiasm as we enjoyed the outing in West Virginia's most beautiful park. The formal dinner/dance on Saturday night at the Logan Country Club was yet another success. It was a pleasure to host two honored guests, Mary Beth White-Ferrell and Elizabeth Willis, two of our favorite teachers! I regret that missing classmates could not share our joy at the Reunion.
